The Pinnacle Club of ASEAN Secretariat held a significant meeting in Hanoi on May 23, 2019, with key Vietnamese military and defense officials, formally welcoming the establishment of the Vietnam Chapter. The delegation met with Colonel General Nguyen Huy Hieu (Deputy Minister of Defense, Vietnam), Lieutenant General Nguyen Dinh Chien (Former Director, National Defence Strategy Institute, Vietnam), and Major General Nguyen Sinh Xo (Director, Department for Prevention and Combat of Crime, Vietnam).
Colonel General Nguyen Huy Hieu emphasized the vital role of the Pinnacle Club of ASEAN in fostering camaraderie and friendship among military, defense, and police officials across the region. He agreed to serve as an advisor for the Vietnam Chapter, which will be administered by Lieutenant General Nguyen Dinh Chien.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Dinh Chien brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as Deputy Director of the Military Technical Academy, Deputy Commander of Hanoi Capital Command, and Director of the National Defense Strategy Institute before his retirement in 2014. He has also represented Vietnam at numerous international defense and security forums. Major General Nguyen Sinh Xo will support the administration of the Vietnam Chapter.
On behalf of the entire Pinnacle Club of ASEAN, we extend a warm welcome to the new members from Vietnam and look forward to future collaborations.
