Zainul Abidin Rasheed

Zainul Abidin Rasheed was the former Senior Minister of State for the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is now serving as Singapore’s Ambassador (Non-Resident) to the State of Kuwait. He served as a Member of Parliament from 1997-2011.

Prior to political office, he served for more than 20 years as an Editor in the Straits Times Group, covering Singapore and the region, including the early visits of Former PM Lee Kuan Yew to China and Singapore’s ASEAN neighbours.

Zainul Abidin was also actively involved in community and social development having served as President of the Islamic Religious Council and CEO of the Council for the Development of the Malay/Muslim Community. Zainul Abidin served on the NUS Council in the ‘80s, and now serving as member of the NTU Board of Trustees and the MediaCorp Board of Directors.
