Vera is a Senior Business Development Manager at Stratagem Group Pte Ltd, a strategic risk consultancy. She is responsible for developing new business leads as well as business matching, identifying and connecting companies seeking new ventures or expansion opportunities in overseas market. Her role also entails business intelligence, identifying new growth opportunities across South East Asia.
Prior to this role, she had 4 years of experience in Enterprise Singapore, driving industry development for the beauty retail sector by assisting SMEs in capabilities upgrading and internationalisation. She worked on cross-border ecommerce initiatives, online-offline retail activation projects and implemented the first series of “狂吃狂购新加坡” live-streaming campaigns on Taobao Live, targeting the Chinese 618 and Qixi shopping festivals. She had also worked with Trade Associations and Chambers and SME Centres who act as multipliers to help aspiring SMEs upgrade their capabilities and value add to Singapore’s economy. Together with SME Centres, she drove the development of group-based upgrading projects based on precincts (Digitalisation at One Kampong Glam) and trades (Retail, F&B, Tailoring).
With past commercial experience at SMRT Commercial, Vera played a key role in driving growth plans for non-fare transit properties and outdoor media business, pursued new business opportunities and managed strategic bank and media partnerships. Vera first started in SMRT as an account manager at SMRT Media, where she was the top performer for 2 consecutive years (FY13-FY14) and was nominated for Best Salesperson Award (Singapore Media Awards) and Service Excellence Award (SMRT).
Vera graduated with a Masters of Science in Communications (Magna Cum Laude) from the Singapore Management University (SMU) with programmes in Universita della Svizzera Italiana, Lugano and the UCLA Anderson School of Management under SMRT LEAP programme. She also holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology and Marketing (2nd Major) from SMU.
