On 23 May 19, the Secretariat of the Pinnacle Club of ASEAN met with Colonel General Nguyen Huy Hieu (Deputy Minister of Defense, Vietnam), Lieutenant General Nguyen Dinh Chien (Former Director, National Defence Strategy Institute, Vietnam) and Major General Nguyen Sinh Xo (Director, Department for Prevention and Combat of Crime, Vietnam) in
Hanoi.
Colonel General Nguyen Huy Hieu expressed that the Pinnacle Club of ASEAN played an important role in maintaining the camaraderie and friendship amongst military, defence and police officials. He agreed to be the advisor for the Vietnam Chapter of the Pinnacle Club which would be administrated by Lieutenant General Nguyen Dinh Chien.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Dinh Chien is an experienced veteran who has focused on imparting his knowledge through his stints as the Deputy Director of Military Technical Academy and Deputy Commander of Hanoi Capital Command. He often represents Vietnam at regional and international defence and security conferences including the Shangri-La
Dialogue, Network of ASEAN Defence and Security Institutions (NADI) and the Tri-Service Asian Defense & Security Exhibition, Conference and Networking Event. He retired as the Director of the National Defense Strategy Institute in 2014.
Major General Nguyen Sinh Xo who is the Director of the Department for Prevention and Combat of Crime, will support the administration of the Vietnamese Chapter of the Pinnacle Club of ASEAN.
